The e-ROSA project seeks to build a shared vision of a future sustainable e-infrastructure for research and education in agriculture in order to promote Open Science in this field and as such contribute to addressing related societal challenges. In order to achieve this goal, e-ROSA’s first objective is to bring together the relevant scientific communities and stakeholders and engage them in the process of coelaboration of an ambitious, practical roadmap that provides the basis for the design and implementation of such an e-infrastructure in the years to come.
This website highlights the results of a bibliometric analysis conducted at a global scale in order to identify key scientists and associated research performing organisations (e.g. public research institutes, universities, Research & Development departments of private companies) that work in the field of agricultural data sources and services. The study of biophysical parameters such as NDVI, albedo and surface temperature has been reported as important for the understanding of land degradation changes of ecosystems. Degradation in ecosystems is related to the inadequate use of the environmental resources including deforestation, mining, inadequate agriculture, overgrazing, among others, that cause imbalance of ecological interactions. For multitemporal evaluation of changes related to the degradation of the 'caatinga' ecosystem three parameters were used with TM images: NDVI, albedo and surface temperature, in two different dates, 1985 and 2001 (dry season). This study was applied in the Brigida river basin where there is a great intensification in the exploration of the natural resources. The results show an increase in the surface temperature, decrease of NDVI and little variation in the surface albedo, between the two dates. These results also show an increase in the degradation of the natural resources in the basin of the Brigida river.
